There are many native milkweed species in each of the six 'Milkweed Regions'. It is important to plant seeds from plants grown as close as possible to where you'll be planting them. Planting non-native milkweed can do great HARM to the ecosystem and can KILL Monarchs rather than save them. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE AND SEE HOW YOU CAN HELP

How do I source the species I work with?

Insects serve an essential purpose that supports all life on earth: pollinating plants in the environments. All the species that I work with are collected from a Sanctuary after passing away, having lived its life promoting ecological awareness and education about the importance of these species to our world.

What does it means that some of the species I work with are protected by CITES?

CITES is the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. Although, not all the species listed are endangered or threatened under the IUCN list of endangered species.

I occasionally do work with animals that are protected under CITES Appendix II, and this means that I am not allowed to ship internationally without a permit, and since I do not acquire or ship these species internationally, only domestically, I do not require said permit. There are many laws regarding the collection and sale of species and I am sure to always follow up and know these laws to keep my work and sale of my work completely legal.

Sarah Folts (Owner/Artist): entrepreneur, artist, and survivor. Her career started off after an unlikely experience. She grew up an active young adult as a competitive gymnast. During her teenage years she was diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis, which became critical. After a multitude of surgeries  and double amputations on both her feet, she hit a tremendous low point in her life.  But somehow she lifted herself out of it by developing a deep connection with nature, appreciating its simplicity and beauty in a way that she never saw before. She found refuge and happiness in her creativity and art. From this passion and artistic view of nature flourished a specific interest in butterflies and the freedom and beauty they represent.
